Profile Questions
  • What do you like most about your profession?

I really enjoy taking an idea and turning it into something tangible. I love the creative process and the discovery process. Building a new product is an incredible journey, exhilarating and painful and challenging. I want to take other people on that journey and show them what it takes to build great products.

  • What questions do clients most commonly ask you? How do you respond?

People unfamiliar with the software development process typically want to describe a product (simply) and then want to know how much it will cost and how long it will take to build. It's impossible to predict/forecast, but that is ultimately what they want. I typically try to educate them about the process that I take and to get an understanding of what they need to build to deliver a compelling solution.

  • Describe a recent client engagement or project.

Last year, I build a version 1 product for an Atlanta entrepreneur. The product is a player performance management solution for college and professional sports teams. I started with the entrepreneur who had an idea and some conceptual drawings. I worked with him to build a proof of concept. When we agreed that was what he needed to build, I formed a small team and lead the implementation of the production system.
