Zoho might be a great alternative to SalesForce, but if you're looking to keep it simple. Highrise by 37Signals has a strong following as well. VKW, my company, offers customer service and tech support solutions. The majority of our clients use Zoho. For tech support, it's mostly an in-house ticketing system.
